About Me
I’m Julie Marie Bowen, an Accredited EMDR Practitioner with EMDR UK & Europe and an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.
How I Can Help:
I specialise in working with individuals aged 18 and over, offering a safe, confidential and compassionate space to explore difficulties and work towards positive change. I have experience supporting clients experiencing:
- Trauma and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
- Anxiety and stress-related difficulties
- Depression
- Abuse and the effects of sexual assault
- Relationship difficulties
- Behavioural difficulties
- And a range of other emotional and psychological challenges
Professional Development & Safe Practice:
I undertake regular monthly clinical supervision and ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain and develop my professional knowledge and skills. This forms an important part of maintaining safe, ethical and effective practice.
Additional Therapies & Courses:
Alongside my therapeutic work, I also offer a selection of complementary therapies and self-study courses. These include Kundalini Reiki healing, and PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy. I also offer online, self-study courses, including:

My Journey
Having been extremely successful in helping people overcome their difficulties since 2008. Being a therapist is my life purpose helping and supporting people in their recovery.
I understand how anxiety provoking and challenging it is starting therapy, but also how empowering the journey of self discovery can be. I have been through tough times myself so know how effective therapy is with the right therapist. That's where the name Freedom Within came from, it's how I felt overcoming my difficulties.

Appointment Fees
£90.00 for 50 minute session of EMDR Therapy or Counselling & Psychotherapy
EMDR Intensives £150.00 for 90 minutes £350.00 for 3 hours session £700 for 6 hour session
PEMF Therapy or Kundalini Reiki fees 30 minutes £35.00 or 1 hour £65.00
